The Montessori philosophy of education is the foundation on which we have built our Integrated Model of Primary Education. For us, this Model entails a unique team approach. Whenever possible, two Montessori- and ECE-trained professionals work in each classroom—one a more experienced mentor, and one an apprentice. Numerous staff members also hold university degrees from a variety of faculties.

Each teacher is equally responsible for Montessori instruction, parent communication, curriculum planning, and recording of each child’s progress, as well as planning their future lessons.

All of our teachers are hired on the basis of their character, teaching strength, experience, and their demonstrated professionalism in preschool education. The proficiency and dedication of our staff enables us to maintain our distinctive approach.

Our individually tailored method of education is quite different from most mainstream educational systems. Through observation and record keeping, it emphasizes the current needs and interests of the individual child. We are fortunate to have teachers who are devoted to this philosophy.

Reinforcing our recognition of the importance of the development of the child and of our curriculum is our strong belief in the on-going professional development of our team. Aside from holding certifications in Montessori, ECE, first aid and, for some, university degrees, our instructors also seek out instruction in various related studies, such as Orton-Gillingham and Second Step training.

The child’s first introduction to school should be a positive experience. With all the unique skills and varied qualities our teachers bring to the classrooms, what they all have in common is their love for children.
